Job description: Are you interested in applying your talents and knowledge and gaining valuable experience to support worker health and safety? We are seeking a student to work in the Prevention Finance department and assist with the analysis and processing of financial transactions.
This is an 8 month position. Please note, should the current COVID-19 situation change, this position may no longer be remote and will be based in our Richmond office.
What you’ll do
As a co-op student, you will:
- Assist in the monthly budget review process including admin cost variance analysis and forecasting in the monthly financial statement process
- Cost transfer journal entries, and month end accrual entries
- Conduct FTE analysis and over time report
- Gather and analyze data from multiple sources for statistical and KPI reporting
- Ad hoc tasks as requested

- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to a wide variety of tasks and functions
- Demonstrate strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills with the ability to adapt to change
- Work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
- Quickly learn and effectively use a variety of computer programs
Your experience and educational background:
- Enrolled in Bachelor of Business Administration program, specializing in Accounting or Finance
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word)
- Previous experience as analyst with experience in financial accounting an asset
