We are going through a period of explosive growth and are seeking an IT Support Engineer in our Toronto office to work with a fantastic group of System Administrators and the opportunity to learn, grow and become a proper System Administrator.
In this newly created role, the IT Support Engineer will need to have an uncontrollable urge to troubleshoot and dig to get to the root of a problem and resolve it. You must have a drive to go the extra mile to help your coworkers be as productive as only you can make them.
What will you do?
- Google G-Suite / Workspace management – provisioning and maintaining corporate user accounts, update distribution groups, etc,
- Hardware support and imaging computers, deploy new laptops, replace laptops, replacing monitors.
- Jira and Confluence support, project, space, user and permissions management
- Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, network gear, servers time to time.
- Microsoft Active Directory management
- Managing storage and file shares on Windows based file servers (NTFS permissions)
- Managing a VMware vCenter environment (create, troubleshoot, manage VM’s)
- Manage and maintain our cloud resources in AWS and / or Azure
- Manage users in our Okta environment
- Maintain our network infrastructure
- our firewalls (Sonicwall, Fortigate)
- our switches (HP, Cisco)
- Our Wifi
- VPN connections (site to site and remote worker VPN)
- Maintain our anti virus from the management portal, push out agent updates, remediate threats, report on status.
- Monitor and maintain our cloud patching solution, ensure all endpoints are up to date with security patches
- Monitor and maintain server backups with Veeam, restore files when needed
- Support all Paramount employees remotely with TeamViewer
- Support Windows and MacOS users and devices
- Provide assistance and support with user onboarding and offboarding
- Provide assistance with Zoom products
- Work on projects as assigned by the head of Corporate IT
Your skills would include and are:
- Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation
- Ability to conduct research into advanced hardware, software, network, user account related issues as required (troubleshooting)
- Experience with TCP/IP networking and with
- Networking appliances (Sonicwall and Fortinet firewalls, Cisco switches)
- Solid understanding of VLANs, subnets, VPN connections, WiFi, IP addressing (very important)
- Good knowledge of VMware and virtualization
- Good knowledge of Windows Servers OS
- Good knowledge of DHCP, DNS, file shares, group policies
- Good Knowledge of Active Directory
- Great knowledge of cloud computing (Azure, AWS)
- Knowledge of Okta
- Knowledge of Zoom
- Knowledge and understanding of security principles, MFA, public and private keys, etc.
- Manage time effectively and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Outstanding knowledge of Windows and MacOS
- Patch management for workstations
- Passionate about technology and are eager to learn new technologies and new methods.
- Some knowledge of Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence) is preferred.
- Knowledge about G Suite / Google Workspace is mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Flexible with working hours as the need may arise time to time to provide support past 5PM Eastern time, and to perform after hours maintenance from time to time.
