Job title: IT Support Technician

Job description: OVERVIEW:

The IT Support Technician is responsible
for managing and maintaining desktop software, hardware, and ensuring help desk
requests are resolved in a timely manner.
The successful candidate must be well-organized, be a good
problem-solver with the ability to learn new technologies quickly. This is a full time position reporting to the
IT Manager.

MAJOR
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage
incoming technical request through our ticketing system (troubleshoot computers,
printers, mobile devices, networks etc.)

· Perform
network and user administration such as updates, monitoring, user account,
email account and files/folder administration.

· Maintains
and regularly verifies/tests backups and recovery procedures

· Update
documented IT processes and procedures

· Respond
to internal and external guests in a timely fashion

· Ensure
that all established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures are strictly
adhered to

· Comply
with WRS’s Occupational Health and Safety Program and the Regulation of
WorkSafeBC

· Report
any unsafe conditions, practices or injuries to their supervisor as soon as
possible

· Set
a good safety example

· All
other duties as assigned

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· 2+ years experience in providing excellent technical support

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Experience in tracking and documenting issues via a helpdesk system

· Working knowledge of Office 365, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Server

· Basic knowledge of networking and VOIP technologies

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Available to work weekends

· Physically lift and carry various computer related equipment (10-30lbs)

· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and repair/maintenance tasks

· Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as being able to establish priorities

  • Salary/Wage: $21.00
