This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
The Health Information Clerk reports to the Manager-Registration Services and is responsible for the operational activities related to the registry processes and the internal components of communication such as switchboard and paging. The position may require the candidates to be available for shift work including nights, weekends and holidays, as well as being readily available on short notice as required by workload.
Qualifications
- Grade XII plus the successful completion of an approved Medical Office Assistant or Secretarial Course that includes typing, filing, computer skills and office management
- Successful completion of Medical Terminology course or equivalent experience
- Data entry skills and related computer knowledge
- Knowledge of patient information system preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
- Ability to work independently; to prioritize activities and work in a team environment
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with all levels of staff and clients, including those internal and external to the organization
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work
Permanent part-time (35%) position; 24.50 hours biweekly
Ability to work shifts including weekend and holidays required
Salary Information
$20.0923 – $21.9130 hourly
