That’s where you come in! Working on our awesome finance team, the Senior Finance Manager role will take primary responsibility for the company’s monthly financial reporting, and working with other members of the team in ensuring complete and proper accounting of financial transactions, revenue recognition, etc., in addition to taking on other operational tasks and analytical projects from time to time.

How you’d make a huge impact here – and on your career:

  • You’ll be responsible for running our month-end processes, including expense accruals, prepaid allocations and oversight of revenue recognition; and complete with putting together the monthly financial statements, including consolidation of our Canadian and US operations, in accordance with US GAAP.
  • You’ll compare and analyze the variance in monthly financials, and versus the company’s budget.
  • You’ll run the commissions calculation process (through salesforce.com) for all members of the sales team on a monthly basis.
  • You’ll take responsibility for the company’s annual external audit process as well as tax filing compliance work, working directly with our Big4 firms on their requests.
  • You’ll oversee our payroll accountant in ensuring accurate processing of payroll in Canada as well as the US.
  • You’ll help the senior accountant as and when necessary, in ensuring all non-standard revenue contracts are invoiced and recognized correctly.
  • You’ll partner with the VP, Finance in tracking SaaS metrics and dashboards for reference by the leadership team (and sales reports as inputs into monthly reporting packages).
  • You’ll support the VP, Finance and work with business leaders across the company for ad-hoc financial analysis projects from time to time.
  • You’ll work with the VP, Finance on periodic updates to the company’s financial forecast.

Qualifications and Skills required

  • You have a CPA designation with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience and a thorough understanding of US GAAP.
  • Relevant work experience in a corporate business environment, especially at another SaaS company is a strong asset.
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, combined with a curious and analytical bent of mind.
  • You have good knowledge of (or a strong desire to learn) SaaS-business metrics.
  • You are fully comfortable with your Microsoft Excel skills.
  • You are flexible and understand that scale-up environments are fast paced and dynamic.
  • You enjoy working independently and driving multiple projects simultaneously, while pulling in cross-functional teams for support, where needed.

Note: This is a full-time position, reporting to VP Finance.
