Parsons is seeking a Construction Superintendent for work on our Giant Mine remediation project in Yellowknife, NT. This person will assist with planning, organizing, and supervising specific portions of construction work on site.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of technical components of tender documents meeting the project requirements
Coordination of requests for clarification on all issued documents, and issuance of addenda to tender documents
Management of internal and external communications regarding tender submissions
Assists Assistant Construction Superintendents, Construction Inspectors and Safety with EHS program implementation; Contractor review, site inspections and enforcement of standards
Provides support to the HS and Environmental managers, leads by example and actively participates in the EHS program (training, inspections, employee mentoring)
Monitors manpower requirements, efficiency, and productivity of construction crews
Coordinates the material and equipment requirements with planned engineering and construction schedules.
Provides technical direction in construction methods to craft supervisors and foremen to attain required quality control
Assist in preparation and issuance of contract documents
Processing and maintaining control and accountability for contract modifications
Managing and coordinating the appropriate closure of contracts, including management of performance metric reporting, acquisition of deliverables (i.e. Operations manuals, warranty documentation)
Maintaining and updating tracking tools with current values for contracts and amendments (projected and actual), and developing data summaries
Compliance monitoring of contract deliverables
Assisting with management of project data
Assisting with preparation of technical reports
Verifies layouts with field engineers and ensures craftsmen maintain the established horizontal and vertical controls
Coordinates work efforts between various subcontractors and company workforce
Maintains production controls and verifies the construction progress at prescribed intervals
Qualifications:
4-year degree in construction related field
>10 years of experience in the construction / environmental industry
>3 year of experience working in Northern Canada
Knowledgeable of environmental industry practices and regulations
Professional designation (or the ability to obtain one) as a professional geologist, engineer is desired
Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected
Experience in the construction of large civil/industrial or mining reclamation closure projects is preferred
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as familiarity with industry practices
Proven leadership capability is required
