Reporting to the Senior Director Finance, Television & Radio, the Senior Manager will lead financial support for the Television business. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the reporting, planning and business analysis for our groups.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Month-end financial results, analysis and management reporting
  • Preparation and review of all Television annual return filings to the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission
  • Review monthly programming spend, provide commentary and identify any unusual trends
  • Provide strategic input into program amortization spend to comply with our annual Canadian Program Expenditure requirements
  • Finance lead for production company and regulatory activities for RTV
  • Prepare reconciliations of all Program Rights Assets, Liabilities and amortization expense between the Program Rights sub-ledgers and the General Ledger
  • Review contractual programming commitments
  • Finance lead for the development of business case analysis for new initiatives and programs
  • Enhance business processes to gain efficiencies
  • Support ad hoc analysis as required
  • Proactive identification of value added reporting and analysis as well as areas of focus for risks and opportunities

What you bring:

  • University business degree and a recognized accounting designation (CPA CA, CMA, MBA)
  • Strong financial background with 8+ years of progressive experience within finance
  • Ability to analyze business processes and resolve problems
  • Expert Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) for effective interaction with all levels of company management and personnel.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results.
  • High level of integrity and strong sense of personal ownership and accountability.
  • Adapts to fast-changing environment – works well under pressure and has ability to act with urgency
  • Customer focused and results oriented individual.
