Job title: Finance Reporting Manager

Job description: The Financial Reporting Manager will be reporting to the Director of Finance and is responsible for the external and internal financial reporting and analysis, which includes leading the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related note disclosures in accordance with IFRS as well as the preparation of the internal reporting packages.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Firm wide financial reporting for different teams in Canada and the United States
  • Review of monthly & year-end consolidated financial statement
  • Review all reporting information received from the divisional accounting team and review the reconciliations of intercompany transactions and investment in subsidiary activity
  • Overseeing the annual budget process
  • Review the financial statements, including note disclosures, prepared for both partners and bank
  • Annual audit & assisting with the firm’s tax filing
  • Maintaining a monthly checklist and coordinating the accumulation of documents from divisional accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Review the various consolidations, including recording all eliminating entries (intercompany investment and transactions) and reviewing the accuracy of the consolidation adjustments and entries
  • Review all journal entries and auditing workflow
  • Updating accounting and internal control policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Provide leadership and direct the team in a fast paced work environment to deliver high-quality financial statements, financial reports and analysis
  • Preparing monthly executive reports
  • Maintain mapping from GL accounts to the consolidation tool
  • Coordinate the audit with external auditors
  • Supporting Senior Management in performing all aspects of financial and management reporting
  • Managing year-end external audit, coordinating preparation of working papers, notes to the financial statements and financial statements
  • Providing learning and coaching to other team members

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a related field (e.g. Accounting, Finance or Business Administration)
  • 7-10 years of auditing experience in accounting, construction or real-estate is required
  • An accounting designation such as a CPA
  • Previous management or supervisory experience within the professional services industry is required
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and ASPE with demonstrated ability to apply IFRS and regulatory knowledge to the review of financial documents for disclosure and technical memos to detect potential errors or gaps;
  • Advanced level Excel skills are required
  • Managing a team and defining direct report’s skills
  • People’s person
  • Capacity to handle high pressure situations and tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
