This is a temporary position for a period of 6 months.

Your role

You will be responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of financial data (real and budget) of CBC/Radio-Canada in order to determine the financial position, and facilitate decision-making and budget planning.

As the Accounting Officer reporting to the Chief Controller, you will be responsible for assisting the Chief Controller with the quarterly closing of the financial statements under French Services, the preparation of the annual report to the CRTC, compliance with travel policies and costing related requests.

Responsibilities:

Carry out various control reports to ensure a smooth financial close.

Follow up on the production funds granted and enter the entries related to them.

Validate international travel accounts.

Ensure that policies related to travel and entertainment expenses are properly applied.

Prepare various post-closing reports such as balance sheet accounts variance analysis, the consolidation of executive directors travel costs, the expense and project report.

Calculate annual labour rates and ensure their proper application by providing support to the sectors.

Assistance to the various sectors for the creation of projects, internal transfer prices, cost centers, function codes, etc. in SAP.

Contribute to the production of annual reports to the CRTC and maintain the correct CRTC classification of programs in SAP throughout the year.

Ensure the correction of rejected labour expense charges for French Services.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in administration (accounting or finance option) and at least one (1) year of experience in a related position or performing related duties; or DEC in Administration and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience; or seven (7) years of experience performing related duties

Skills:

Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, functions and data processing) and Microsoft products

Good knowledge of Google Suite, an asset

Good knowledge of SAP

Good oral and writing proficiency in French and English

Good knowledge of IBM Cognos et TM1 (an asset)

Able to manage multiple priorities

Solid interpersonal and communication skills

Able to work effectively on a team

Selected candidates will be tested as follows:

Theory tests: Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel) and knowledge related to the position

Written test in French and English
