The Ian Martin Group (https://ianmartin.com/) has partnered with our client, a start-up founded by a medical doctor to support a paradigm shift in healthcare. They have over a decade of research and practice in the emerging field of integrative medicine, the blockage theory of disease has emerged as an important medical discovery with the potential to significantly reduce the global burden of disease. They have developed a diverse portfolio of products and services to support a long-term effort to make blockages an established part of modern medical science and share that with people. What you’ll be doing As General Manager, you’ll work closely with the founder to help execute their vision by contributing to strategy and overseeing execution. You will be responsible for the successful development and growth of our portfolio. This is a full-time position supported by a team of project coordinators, external providers, and support staff. Your performance will be measured not only by financial success but by the growth and engagement of a targeted audience of people seeking longevity, wellness, healing, prevention, and performance. Specifically, you will: * Ensure the successful completion of the projects by overseeing and working with individual project coordinators * Regular meetings with the founder to ensure alignment with the broader vision and consistency across projects * Improve organizational performance through mindful attention to procedures, meetings, reports, and deliverables among all team members * Ensure consistent messaging and tone across all projects with a brand voice that combines science and style, and help build and leverage the founder’s personal brand as a credible voice on controversial and challenging subjects * Work with an in-house marketing content creator to build an online presence that engages and grows an audience of seekers * Select and implement the most appropriate business systems and best practices such as a CRM system, etc. * Recruit, train and manage to build capacity * Develop briefing materials on key issues and recommend and implement courses of action * Prepare budgets, administer funds, and provide financial reports for each project and for the organization as a whole, with support for the financial provider The best in this role will be able to: * Work independently, take ownership of your work and strive for success * Are extremely organized and have an eye for detail * Set and achieve goals, driven by performance * Capacity to work with focus and discipline, including extended and flexible hours as needed as the founder is currently engaged in patient care during regular office hours * Learn new skills quickly, embrace and adapt to change, grasp new concepts, and manage multiple competing projects * Use creativity to anticipate and solve problems, find markets relevant to each project and identify opportunities * Have a desire to make the world a better place and a track record of activities that demonstrate it The organization is growing rapidly, and the right person for this role will not only be comfortable in this kind of dynamic environment, but will be resilient, adaptable, and able to help support the team with a diversity of priorities and multiple projects all at different phases of the project life cycle. The Details This full-time, permanent position is remote. You’ll be expected to work from a home office during EST hours, Monday to Friday with flex hours to accommodate the founder’s clinic/patient schedule which could include early morning meetings, late afternoon, and the odd evening meeting. You’ll be expected to visit the clinic located in Ottawa on occasion. They offer a competitive base salary, commensurate with experience. You’ll also receive a bonus based on KPI milestones for a key product expected in the marketplace in the next 18-24 months, along with vacation and a health trust fund. Qualifications & Experience * 3-5 years of experience in project management, with experience running multiple projects all in different phases of the project lifecycle * Candidates with a PMP certification will be given priority * Proven experience leading a team of 5+ project coordinators with Integrity and skill * 3-5 years demonstrated passion, and relevant experience in the health, wellness industry or science sector or similar, is required * Post-secondary degree in science, healthcare, business, or engineering is an asset * Entrepreneurial attitude and experience working in a startup and helping to build an Infrastructure Is considered an asset * Experience working within an environment with an element of public relations, online marketing, brand storytelling and/or audience-building Is considered an asset * Experience working through an acquisition or merger Is considered an asset Your Application We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.
