Job description: The Agricultural Plant and Farm Team Member is a part of the Prairie Heritage Seeds (PHS) operations team. Their work is multi-faceted and requires cross training in many of the operational areas of PHS including logistics (loading and unloading deliveries), bagging cleaned organic grains, cleaning organic grains using an elaborate grain cleaner system, mill operations, general machine and grain handling system maintenance and operation, building and grain handling system janitorial work/cleaning, as well as general farm labour including field work and farm machine operations. Also required is careful grain sampling and record keeping work to ensure the quality assurance and food safety of PHS products.
A learning mind is essential for the Agricultural Plant and Farm Team Member as change occurs regularly and new and exciting processes and ideas are continually occurring at PHS. They must have strong communication skills to ensure proper coordination between the office/logistics team occurs and the ability to multi-task and juggle priorities is also important. The Agricultural Plant and Farm Team Member will have a strong mechanical inclination and be willing to work as a team in all facets of the job.
Experience within the agriculture industry and a class1A drivers license is preferred but not required. The ability and desire to work in multiple areas of the operations of PHS is required.
