Each year, UCCE serves over 20,000 adult learners and offers more than one thousand courses taught by hundreds of instructors-all experts in their fields. It is expected to fund, through revenue generation, the majority of its operational costs while contributing financially to the university.

Position Description
University of Calgary Continuing Education is currently recruiting for instructors for Fall 2021 to teach the following courses: ICT 686 Introduction to Motion Graphics and ICT 687 Adobe Premiere Pro Video Editing: Classroom Delivery and Online Delivery
These instructional positions are non-credit teaching appointments and, as such, are contract positions without benefits (other than those required by Employment Standards).

- ICT 686 Introduction to Motion Graphics: Classroom Delivery and Online Delivery
FALL/WINTER – Main campus
Course Description :
Discover how to create and animate text, images, and video using Adobe After Effects, a software application used to create and deliver compelling motion graphics and visual effects for film and video. Learn basic animation of layers, work with keyframes and motion paths, rendering and outputting to enhance your video projects for web, or digital displays. This course is for individuals with no prior knowledge or experience of motion graphics.
- ICT 687 Adobe Premiere Pro Video Editing: Classroom Delivery and Online Delivery, Fall/Winter – Main Campus
Course Description:
Explore fundamentals of video editing and compressing techniques for digital video production utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro, a timeline-based non-linear video editing software application. Key features include importing media, working with clips and tracks, editing in the timeline, adding titles and transitions, and exporting projects for different file formats. This course is for individuals with no prior knowledge or experience on video editing.
Scope of Responsibilities (high level) * Create effective lessons plans, develop content, learning activities, presentations, assignments, evaluations, examinations.
- Utilize Desire2Learn for all course materials, assessment and, student communication.
- Utilize Desire2Learn (D2L) and Zoom to facilitate synchronous and asynchronous course delivery including all course materials, experiences and student communication.
Qualifications * Master’s degree or equivalent and work experience in the field are desirable.
- Industry experience an asset.
- Adult learning certificate or equivalent is an asset.
- Previous teaching experience is essential; post-secondary teaching experience is preferred.
- Previous experience utilizing Learning Management Systems such as Desire2Learn and Zoom is preferred.
