POSITION SUMMARY:
This role, reporting to the HR Manager, will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning and employee engagement. In addition, you will own programs and initiatives that run across the broader HR team. To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and translate them into the highest impact work. This role plays a key part in providing guidance, support, and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and this role will be open to flexible weekly hours.
Job Description:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a strategic partner in developing, implementing, and applying programs, policies, plans, and processes at both the local and National level;
- Coaching and support to mid-level managers in various HR related activities, such as Employee Wellness, Benefits & Pension, Health and Safety, Employee Recognition, Training, Development, Compliance, Employee Relations, and Performance Management;
- Lead projects associated with the transformation of HR services and best practices
- Provide consultation and advice within assigned functional areas on human resource management issues, policies, investigations and activities;
- Coordinate and lead Onboarding and Offboarding sessions, including Exit interview analysis and recommendations.
- Work collaboratively with the recruiting team, supporting the talent acquisition initiatives;
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources;
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related discipline and post-secondary education from an accredited institution in Human Resources or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience;
- CHRP/CHRL designation, or working towards certification;
- Working knowledge of multi-jurisdictional environments (Canadian Labour Code, Provincial ESA’s, Human Rights, AODA, etc.);
- Experience in the administration of various HR programs, preferably in an environment where employees are located at various geographic areas;
- Ability to travel (10%-15%) between Guelph and St. Mary’s locations as required;
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Business acumen, agility, strategic thinking and ability to analyze data are key capabilities of the role;
- Proficiency in handling multiple assignments concurrently with conflicting priorities;
- Computer proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Working knowledge of Workday, an asset;
- Ability to work independently; punctuality.
