General Accountant

Job title: General Accountant

Job description: Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accountant to join an organization located in the Ottawa-East region. This is a full-time/permanent role that is remote until further notice.

-Remote until further notice and turn to hybrid

Responsibilities:

-Full accounting cycle including AR, AP and analysis;

-Process bi-weekly payroll for 60 employees

-Month end closing

-Reconciliation of Sub Ledger to General Ledger

-Participate in periodic physical inventories if needed

-Process payments

-Bank and Corporate Credit Card reconciliations;

-Reporting

-Assisting in the annual independent financial review/audit

-Preparing and submitting government reports

Qualifications:

-Accounting degree or in a similar field

-3+ years of experience in Accounting

-Knowledge of accounting principles

-Proficient in Microsoft Excel

-Multi-tasking skills, accuracy and attention to details

-Strong work ethics; Adaptable to change

-Ability to work independently or as a team member

-The ability to meet tight deadlines

-Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills

-Experience working with Sage50 is a strong asset
