Short Description

The purpose of the General Rental Driver position is to transport, deliver and retrieve assorted construction and heavy equipment and to support the needs of the branch in a professional, safe and timely manner. An individual in this position will operate a vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. He/she performs at a high standard of quality level within the branch and outside of the branch. He/she has mastered the operating standards of the facility, the region and corporation

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment
• Ensure load is secure and weight is distributed properly on truck
• Maintain Record of Duty Status
• Complete equipment inspection sheets
• Instruct customers on basic operation of equipment
• Other branch-specific duties as required to maintain efficient operations and provide quality customer service.

Skills

• Ability to read maps
• Strong Customer Service
• Knowledge and familiarity with operating equipment is strongly preferred

Conditions of Employment

A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

A self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
