Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President, Finance will be a hands-on, results-oriented executive with an entrepreneurial mindset. Strong skills and current experience with all the latest technology, including Cloud, AI, machine learning and SaaS will be key. The Vice President, Finance will need to apply exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills along with functional accounting knowledge. The Vice President, Finance is responsible for overseeing and directing the organization’s financial goals, budgets, performance management systems, financings, mergers and acquisitions, risk management along with working closely with the CEO on corporate governance and investor relations. DUTIES . Contributes a high level of business value to the creation and execution of the strategic/business plans that directly impact revenue growth, profitability and the creation of shareholder value. Leads key initiatives in finance that support overall strategic goals. . Participates in the execution of mergers and acquisitions through due diligence, deal structuring, financings, integration planning and implementation. . Oversees the accounting function to assure appropriate, timely and accurate financial processes and procedures. . Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans. . Maintains a working relationship and develops additional relationships with banks, financial institutions and capital markets with the aim of securing the funds necessary for the operations of the company, the attainment of its development plans, and its investments. . Administers banking arrangements, loan agreements, and maintains adequate sources of capital for the company’s current borrowings from commercial banks and other lending institutions. . Manages the balance sheet, developing strategies and plans to limit the investment in accounts receivable and unbilled services, while maintaining compliance with other key balance sheet items. . Provides financial analysis, insight, and advice as well as reporting on operational performance to the Board of Directors, CEO and management team, which highlight strengths and deficiencies and contribute to sound operational decision making. . Provides leadership in developing tools that facilitate better decision making by the management team. Directs the development of forecasting tools that allow the company to model the outcome of specific business initiatives or assumptions across a broad range of measurement data. . Provides leadership in working with CEO and the senior management team in the annual planning/budgeting, and ongoing reporting, trends/forecasting. . Develops and monitors policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues. . Supervises the internal audit functions; maintains strong internal controls and effective corporate and financial policies. QUALIFICATIONS . Professional Accounting Designation . Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business . Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior financial management SKILLS & ABILITIES . Previous experience raising capital, both debt and equity . Previous experience in the Health Care industry is an asset . Experience upgrading IT infrastructure, mostly in the areas of accounting and finance . Previous experience in implementing centralized accounting systems . Previous merger and acquisition experience . Previous experience managing bank relations and investor relations . Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational and written skills . Results-oriented, problem solver, strategic thinker and planner . Strong relationship builder, internally and externally . Effectively communicates complex financial issues and business performance at all levels . Experienced in developing and maintaining banking relationships . Ability to identify and respond appropriately to legal and ethical issues that may arise in the operation of a business . Ability to work within a fast paced, entrepreneurial team .
