As a key player on the commercial finance team, the Senior Business Partner will act as a change agent and help achieve Sales’ financial objectives. His/her main assignment will be to work jointly with Sales to improve management of promotion funds and implement effective ways to work on Sales’ other financial levers (volume and mix, price increases, contract renewals, etc.).
Specifically, the main duties of the Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner:
Implement an in-house promotion funds tracking system and be responsible for analyzing and possibly setting up an integrated promotion funds system. Monitor overall performance indicators for the TSM (trade spend management) project and see to communications if targets are missed;
Analyze past and future financial results, and make presentations to assigned retail accounts. More specifically, focus the analysis on metrics for net sales, gross margin, shipping, management of certain contractual clauses, ROI for temporary rebates and commercial agreements, and/or other items deemed relevant. He/she makes sure financial information is accurate and relevant while ensuring compliance with the internal financial reporting cascading process (IBP);
Support the VP Sales in their strategies, management of promotion funds, contractual management of commercial agreements and other financial levers at their disposal, as well as in evaluating future risks and opportunities for the achievement of objectives and thus facilitate decision making;
Help improve processes and see to implementation;
Occasionally perform cost-effectiveness analyses and calculate scenarios to support decision-making;
Assist superior with profitability analyses, annual price increase, and other ad hoc projects.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business and CPA designation (an asset).
At least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years managing promotion funds at a manufacturing firm.
Experience implementing an integrated promotion fund system (an asset).
Bilingual, English and French.
