Job description: The Fort St John Association for Community Living has been providing support to adults with developmental disabilities in Fort St John for over 60 years. We are looking for an employee that wants to make a difference in people’s lives as well as the community. We are seeking a motivated person to join our administrative team.

Key responsibilities:

· Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and company policies.

· Responsible for the accuracy and time lines of financial information

· Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable

· Manage payroll related functions; prepare and process bi-weekly payroll, ensure timely government remittance, maintain adequate employee records, prepare ROE’s as necessary

· Administer pension contributions and WCB

· Maintain confidentiality of all company information

· Other duties as needed

Education, Training, and Experience:

· Knowledge of financial management and control methods, accounting principles, financial statement preparation and analysis, administrative management techniques and methods.

· Three to five years of progressively more responsible financial planning and control, administrative management, purchasing. Experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated and in-depth working knowledge of non-profit community based programs and services, applicable legislation and policies.

· Education at a post-secondary level in accounting.

· High level skills in computer applications and programs.

· Excellent communication skills, including professional phone manner

· Attention to detail, team mentality and positive attitude

· Professional presentation
