Job description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analysis Manager for one of our prestigious client to lead their data analysis team in the dynamic and fast-evolving banking sector in Canada. As the Data Analysis Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing data analysis initiatives, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with Canadian banking regulations, and leveraging data-driven insights to support strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a data analysis strategy tailored to the Canadian banking environment, aligned with our institution’s goals and compliant with local regulations.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, driving their professional growth and maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Assign projects, establish performance targets, and ensure the team meets department and organizational objectives.

Data Governance:

  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity through robust data governance practices.
  • Oversee data collection, storage, and retrieval procedures, adhering to Canadian banking industry regulations.

Data Analytics:

  • Lead the analysis of banking data to extract meaningful insights, identify trends, and detect anomalies.
  • Implement advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques to assess risks and analyze customer behaviors.

Reporting and Visualization:

  • Create and deliver data reports and dashboards providing actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure data visualizations are user-friendly and support strategic decision-making.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about Canadian banking regulations (e.g., OSFI guidelines) and ensure data analysis processes are in compliance.

Collaborative Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk management, finance, and compliance, to meet their data analysis requirements.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for data analysis initiatives and monitor performance to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics).
  • Proven experience in data analysis and management within the Canadian banking sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian banking data and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Dedication to data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory but advantageous):

  • Familiarity with financial risk modeling and stress testing.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, Chartered Financial Analyst).
