Overview of role:

WestJet is seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Integration/Strategy Management office. This individual will exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.

Reporting to the Vice President of the Integration Projects, the Senior Analyst, will strongly execute on the strategic planning of the integration of Sunwing into the WestJet group of companies. This analyst will curate executive materials, create compelling business cases, develop project proposals, and conduct thorough financial analysis to enable a successful integration from both a people and business perspective.

Key deliverables include:

  • Support the integration planning and execution for WestJet’s corporate strategy including strategic positioning, short and long-term growth plans, and scorecard management of integration objectives and corresponding key performance indicators
  • Develop the financial and strategic analytics in support of Executive/Board of Director-level integration decisions that drive a competitive advantage
  • Author and deliver high-impact presentations and plans for stakeholders while actively collaborating across various levels and departments throughout the organizations
  • Lead business case and project proposal development including steering committee recommendations, and portfolio board decision papers
  • Represent the Integration Management Office on large cross-business/company projects, proactively identifying potential risks or issues to the business and source several plausible solutions to each risk/ issue

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Business, Economics, Finance or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in leading strategic initiatives and analytics
  • Strong process management skills, initiative, ability to manage competing priorities and attention to detail are critical
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to translate complex data, research and analysis into concise narratives and concepts
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships and have a proven ability to work autonomously in cross-functional teams in a flexible team environment
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Teams) required
  • Demonstrate sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Must provide high level of customer service to internal and external guests
  • Ability to effectively handle and prioritize urgent deadlines
