Job description: The Opportunity:

As the Analyst, HR Systems – Reporting, you will be part of a high performing team working to create value through managing, supporting, delivering and strategically optimizing the following HR systems in Oracle HCM: Absence, Benefits, Core HR, Compensation, HR Help Desk, Payroll, Performance, Goals and Recruiting. As the Reporting Analyst, you will have an opportunity to utilize the reporting tools to present data across all areas of HR. For 2024, we also have planned projects for Oracle Time and Labour and Oracle Analytics so the Reporting Analyst will have an opportunity to participate in the new projects and launch HR Analytics for the first time at Canadian Natural.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain, modify, and optimize existing reports from HR applications
  • Design, create and publish new reports from HR applications
  • Provide data as requested by stakeholders in the company
  • Create reporting dashboards to enable end-users to analyze HR data
  • Modify notification templates using BI Publisher
  • Create formatted templates in Word using BI Publisher
  • Create loading templates and load data into HR application
  • Develop knowledge to maintain and enhance interfaces to/from HR applications ensuring data integrity of people data throughout the company
  • Bridge the needs of the HR business areas and the systems to improve efficiency within the HR team
  • Proactively provide input to improve the strategy that will ensure effective and efficient use of the modules and tools
  • Configure, test, validate and implement system changes (requirements gathering through to implementation, documentation, end user training and communications)
  • Evaluate releases and new functionality for business fit to improve and optimize current use of the tools
  • Seek new ways to improve efficiency through automation and improved use of technology
  • Participate in a variety of projects related to the HR systems and business processes associated to each
  • Provide technical support for assigned HR systems

Other Details:

  • This is a permanent full-time position
  • Job location: Calgary, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off (Monday to Friday)

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of combined ERP or HR Systems experience with relevant post-secondary education
  • HR system experience or training preferred

The following are a definite asset:

  • Oracle – Human Capital Management (HCM) or comparable Human Capital Management system experience
  • Proficiency in SQL Programming Language and SQL Connect
  • Knowledge of Macro Functionality in Microsoft Excel
  • HR functional and system experience preferred
  • Report Building, Querying, and Creation of Data Models Experience using SQL
  • Report Building using OTBI and OBIEE an asset
  • Data Loading Experience
  • Understanding of HR operations and experience in employee data management
  • Ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients’ needs and situation
  • Ability to build, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to interact with HR clients and cross-functional colleagues
