Work Arrangements
The Music Department in the Faculty of Language, Literature and Performing Arts is seeking to expand its list of contract instructors qualified to teach the following courses in the Music Technology Diploma program:
- MUSC 1272: Music for Film and Video I
- MUSC 2172: Music for Film and Video II
- MUSC 2272: Music for Interactive Media
The Music Department is also seeking to hire a contract instructor to teach MUSC 2172: Music for Film and Video II in the Fall 2023 semester. The course is scheduled to take place at the New Westminster campus on Tuesday from 12:30 to 2:20 PM.

The Role
Contract Faculty – Music
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
– teach practical film music composition to our first- and/or second- year of the diploma program, working with QuickTime in movies in the Logic Pro sequencing environment;
– plan, organize, and manage learning activities, and maintain quality learner-centred instruction;
– assess and evaluate students’ progress and achievement; and
– hold regular office hours for students.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
– a minimum of a relevant Master’s Degree or equivalent professional experience;
– a record of successful teaching at the post-secondary level;
– a demonstrated ability to work with a population of diverse learners;
– experience teaching students with exceptionalities;
– excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
– demonstrated initiative, creativity, and self-directedness;
– awareness of Indigenization and Reconciliation practices in post-secondary institutions and/or performing arts pedagogy;
– evidence of ongoing professional development.
