Finance Intern – Travel Insurance Division

As an Accounting Clerk, you’ll be responsible for daily transactional accounting.

What does your typical day look like?

• Completing various client account reconciliations and reports (trust bank reporting);
• Responding to inquiries regarding claim cheque re-issuance and stop payments;
• Assisting with preparing various account reconciliations for month end reporting;
• Assisting with the processing of wire claim payments;
• Special accounting projects as assigned (client requests, internal requests etc.);
• Creation and or review of procedural documentation for finance work flows.

What skills and experience do you need?

• Ability to work in a team setting;
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work cross functionally with other departments;
• Clear and effective communication in English (written and verbal); other languages such as French or Spanish are considered an asset.

Important to note: January to end of April work term. As a Finance Intern, you’ll be responsible for daily transactional accounting, so this role will require the successful candidate to perform duties assigned in office for the duration of their placement.
