Salary: $16.55 per hour + 4% vacation pay

Alternacare is currently recruiting part-time / Health Care Escorts. These roles will appeal to someone who just wants to work a few hours several days during the week.

We are looking for reliable people available Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for shifts that can be 3 to 5 hours long. No vehicle required.

The escort accompanies patients to medical appointments, via Para Transpo or Taxi, assures their safety and their return to the hospital. No care required, just companionship.

These casual positions are great for students, retirees, second careers, or just a great way to supplement your income.

Duties Include:

– Accompanying your client to and from scheduled appointments via Para Transpo / Private Transfer (no vehicle needed)

– Providing comfort and moral support to elderly clients

– Reporting changes in your client’s condition

Required Qualifications and Documentation:

– Grade 12 diploma or equivalency

– Ability to provide a level of comfort and safety to our clients

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English required, French conversation an asset)

– Compassion and understanding of the aging process

– Valid police records check for the vulnerable sector

– Valid and current CPR

– Up to date immunizations (Covid, TB, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria)
