Location: Brampton, ON
Our client in manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Health and Safety Manager for their plant in Brampton.
If you are passionate about fostering a culture of safety and well-being, with a knack for navigating the ins and outs of health and safety management, then this opportunity is for you!
Qualifications:
– Post-secondary diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
– At least 7 years of experience in health and safety roles in manufacturing is mandatory
– At least 3 years in a leadership position
– Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and CRSP (or working towards) required
– Strong knowledge of North American EHS regulations and best practices
Technical Skills/Competence:
– In-depth understanding of EHS regulations, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and more
– Knowledge of WSIB/WC processes, accident investigation, and hazard analysis
– Commitment to continuous professional development
– Strong communication and compassionate leadership skills
– Analytical, organized, and skilled at problem-solving
– Service-oriented with an eye for detail
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
– Plan, develop, and implement EHS policies and programs across NA facilities
– Stay updated on EHS legislation, amendments, and best practices
– Conduct inspections and audits for compliance
– Manage safety incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries records
– Develop and deliver safety orientation and training programs
– Manage internal health and safety audits
– Provide guidance and support to management and the EHS coordinator
– Support and promote occupational health, wellness, and safety initiatives
