Position Title: Financial Analyst, Business Integration – Canada Finance

Team and Location: Canada Finance – Calgary, AB

Minimum Starting Salary: $ 79,600 /year

Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst, Business Integration acts as a finance subject matter expert informing requirements, creating process definitions, understanding accounting impacts and testing controls within the project delivery scope relating to new partnerships, acquisitions, settlement enhancements, and other projects as required. Utilizing their strong finance and accounting background, coupled with experience in IT integration, the individual will effectively lead meetings, manage finance stakeholders, conduct, and review financial analysis for changes that impact finance business process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a trusted finance subject matter expert to project delivery teams during the solutioning, development, testing, and implementation phases of projects impacting Canada Finance
  • Work collaboratively with the cross-functional project team to translate finance business process into project requirements and capabilities
  • Ensure technology and innovation initiatives are performed in accordance with corporate standards and controls
  • Continually evaluate opportunities for improvement that will have a direct impact on the bottom-line
  • Advise project and operational support teams on Canada Finance business process
  • Facilitate process mapping sessions to create clear and accountable RASCI’s, flow diagrams and process documents
  • Actively provide relevant business/functional expertise while demonstrating creativity, adaptability, and resourcefulness
  • Support the integration of new marketing and loyalty program initiatives by collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide finance support for reconciliation, interfaces, and integrations between systems, if required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA designation, an asset
  • A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as a finance business analyst or financial accountant supporting implementation/IT projects, or equivalent
  • Experience using JD Edwards and/or retail back-office systems (such as PDI), an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to organize and negotiate with multi-disciplinary teams in order to meet business needs
  • Highly developed planning and organizing; can manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Independently writes well-structured, concise documents
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents
  • Ability to think critically, solve complex problems and creatively develop actionable solutions
  • Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills
  • Demonstrable experience in driving changes in process, culture, and mindset
