The HR Admin Centre, Team Lead Supervises and provides support and guidance directly to the HR Administration counselors. Provides triage support for Management issues regarding employee documentation and processing issues. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Supervises department activity and ensures work volume is addressed appropriately during spikes in processing by ensuring equitable distribution of workload and acts as backup for all Counsellors as required to maintain operations.
  • Establishes and monitors performance expectations, takes appropriate action in collaboration with manager where appropriate, when expectations are not met and /or exceeded.
  • Recommends changes to enhance the efficiency of the department; also collaborates in the implementation of new methods and improvements to the flow of work.
  • Provides guidance in the consistent and accurate application of salary administration process.
  • Monitors vacation, absenteeism, overtime and leaves of absence; ensures work and vacation schedules are prepared in a timely manner.
  • Acts as a Human Resources Administration Specialist/Consultant attending meetings, participating and collaborating with other HR Departments on various HR/UHN strategic initiatives, within scope of authority
  • Ensures that Human Resources Administration provides optimum customer service and counsel and timely maintenance of the HRIS.
  • Works closely with Labor Relations and Employee Relations to ensure that collective agreements, policies and practices remain compliant and to address emerging issues with client groups.
  • Provides counsel to Management on UHN HR policies, practice, procedures and other information, within scope of authority.
  • Provides counsel to Employees on individual Benefits, Pension, LOA and other HR matters, within scope of authority.
  • Creates and maintains employee files in the HRIS.
  • Identifies and escalates concerns to the Manager as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • At minimum, a completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Labour Relations, or recognized equivalent required.
  • At minimum 4-6 years of practical and related experience
  • HRPA membership preferred
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources procedures and the Employment Standards Act
  • Excellent data entry-computer systems skills and word processing skills, including above average proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
