Role Summary
The IT Department of Co-Ex-Tec is seeking a student with a passion for Big Data Analytics and Problem Solving. Someone who sees data as a puzzle and a drive to put the puzzle together and form a clear image to tell a story!
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Investigations. Seeking someone who can take data from multiple sources and identify patterns and provide observations on the story that the data is telling them.
- Investigations include:
- Data gathering and interpretation to tell the story of what went wrong
- Using that historical data to predict and avoid potential repeat problems in the future
- Utilizing data and video analysis to tell a complete story of what happened.
- Report building – Using Microsoft Power BI and other reporting platforms, work with various teams to come up with meaningful data reports that help them make business decisions
- Make your mark on the company by building reports that get used and last long after your Co-op term has ended.
- Problem Solving – General problem solving for day to day issues. You will be presented with numerous problems or potential risks to systems. You will be challenged to come up with creative solutions that as a team can be put in place to prevent the problem from even occurring.
- Ensure compliance and enforcement to QMS (IATF 16949), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) requirements
- May be required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature
- Assist with other project work as assigned
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a technology, computer science, computer engineering degree or equivalent
- Must be part of a recognized Co-op Program
- Preferably in 2nd or 3rd year program with a focus on Data Analytics
- Sound knowledge of relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server)
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are required
- Well-developed organizational and analytical abilities
