Job Posting Description:
The LCBO is seeking a proven IT executive to serve as our Vice President, IT Strategy and Management who will lead the transformation of our business focused IT organization. Using our creative approach to technology, the Vice President, IT Strategy and Management will partner collaboratively with their peer group to lead IT into a high-performance team, delivering value-based solutions throughout the enterprise. This individual will lead key information and technology functions including IT strategy, governance, performance management, financial forecasting and vendor management for the IT Division. They will also define the common methodologies, processes and tools required to deliver world-class solutions to our customers.
The Vice-President, IT Strategy and Management will lead a team of forward-thinking, motivated and inspired IT professionals. They will also serve as a key member of the CIO’s leadership team, driving innovative and impactful change and ensuring the IT organization does the right things through strategy and governance.
About the Role
- Partners with the CIO in providing technology vision and direction for the enterprise.
- Responsible for aligning IT strategic direction with the corporate strategic plan and ensures innovative solutions are implemented in a timely manner and meets the dynamic needs of the LCBO.
- Responsible for driving focus and prioritization within the IT organization through establishing disciplined planning process, coupled with governance principles and processes.
- Owns the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, methodologies, and governance — as well as performance management frameworks and metrics — to ensure the IT organization delivers value to the enterprise.
- Works with the CIO and business leadership team, providing broad insight to IT domains and capabilities in support of enterprise-wide business decisions.
- Establishes and implements continuous-improvement programs for the IT organization.
- Stays ahead of developments in new market trends and innovations in technology and the leadership of enterprise IT.
- Drives and facilitates effective collaboration and communications between the IT organization and the user and customer communities.
- Responsible for the information architectural roadmap and conceptual data model that informs the design and capabilities of data analytics and business intelligence tools and platforms.
- Develop and manage regular dashboards that communicates the performance of IT in support of the various Business Divisions.
About You
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 15 or more years in IT and business industry.
- A minimum of five to seven years of proven leadership experience and executive level responsibilities.
- Experience managing multi-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key partners.
- Agile, innovative, and customer-centric leader with a reputation for delivering value-based IT solutions.
- A forward-thinking leader who has played a meaningful role in reframing the IT strategy during a transformational period in an organization’s history.
- Courageous and resilient in the face of ambiguity and demonstrate the ability to constructively challenge the status quo and ignite the innovation vital to drive and sustain change.
- Expertise in budget planning, financial management and workforce management.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype.
- Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across the IT organization.
