About the Opportunity

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology invites applications for a part-time (0.5), fee-for-service position as a Community General Obstetrician-Gynaecologist. Candidates should possess an FRCSC or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will practice clinically at a community-based clinic in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Gynecologic operative care and gynaecology on-call responsibilities will be located at the Dartmouth General Regional Hospital. Labour and delivery on-call responsibilities and Cesarean-sections will be located at the IWK Health Centre, which is a tertiary obstetrical site in Halifax.

Qualifications

  • Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
  • Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • The candidate should possess strong surgical and obstetrical skills, as well as experience in the management of emergency and ambulatory patients.

The IWK Health Centre is a teaching hospital associated with Dalhousie University, Faculty of Medicine. Candidates would be expected to be innovative educators involved with postgraduate and undergraduate medical education.
