Job description: SUMMARY:
THIS IS A PART TIME ROLE!!!
Field Technician will be capable of performing dedicated aspects related to, but not limited to, the operation, maintenance, data collection, basic troubleshooting and associated record keeping of all Red Light Camera (RLC) systems in Ottawa and surrounding areas.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT LIMITED TO):
The Field Technician will also be responsible for ensuring all work is carried out in a safe efficient and productive manner in compliance with the Company Health and Safety regulations and to the satisfaction of our clients and JENOPTIK Robot GmbH senior management with emphasis on compliance with all legal and operational contractual obligations, including but not limited to, data collection and associated maintenance requirements.
Please note that this position will require fully independent working conditions in Ottawa at all times and in all weather conditions. The main office is located in Mississauga, ON. Extensive training will be given by on-site shadowing with another technician from our main office and will be given lots of support remotely. Candidate must also be comfortable with early morning start time.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):
The candidate must be hard working and self-motivated with high personal ethics.
Responsible for ensuring the timely collection, accurate documentation and timely secure bi-weekly delivery of data to the Joint Processing Centre including:
- routine weekly data collection and deliveries as per data collection schedules following all procedures effectively
Responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of all Traffipax owned operations equipment including;
- Perform basic troubleshooting of various mechanical and electronic components in the field,
- Perform basic mechanical work of assembling and installing equipment components in the field,
- Install, tune and maintain digital camera systems in pole cabinets in the field,
- File maintenance reports with the Assistant Program Manager
- Possess basic electrical (120v), electronics and computer skills for configurations and trouble-shooting
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):
- Possess good communication skills in English
- Have basic Office Software computer skills
- Ability to work independently, responsibly, and safely
- Ability to solve problems in the field independently, with judgment to seek help when needed
- Must be able to work in a structured, transparent and auditable manner, prioritize, comply with processes and quality checklists
- Be willing to travel to Toronto for technical training, as requested
- Effectively prioritize, plan and manage time
- Adhere to various safety regulations

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide support for other programs when required
- Perform all duties delegated by the Field Operations Manager
- Performs all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic components, power and connectivity wiring, computer hardware, etc.
- Experience in the field of Photography in general and Digital Photography in particular would be an asset
- General knowledge with Windows operating systems and Office applications, in particular Microsoft word, Excel and e-mail
- Maintain a good driving record

- Ambitious and hard working with a clean driver’s license
- Clean police record
- Canadian Citizenship or Qualified Canadian Worker
