About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Ward Clerk is responsible for registering patients; filing; processing physician orders; distribution of reports; performing data entry on NSHiS; typing correspondence and reports using medical terminology; receiving and distributing mail; maintaining workload and statistical data; and other job related duties as assigned.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a post-secondary secretarial or office administration program or equivalent required
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Terminology course required
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in an area with frequent interruptions
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

  • Long Assignment Part-time / 70% FTE / 49 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Position is for night clerical but may be rotating shift

Compensation and Benefits

$22.89 – $24.89 hourly
