About the Opportunity
Under the direction of the supervisor or delegate and following Nova Scotia Health Authority policies and procedures, the Laboratory Booking and Registration Clerk B registers patients in the hospital registration system and orders a wide scope of complex laboratory tests utilizing the Laboratory Information System. The Booking & Registration Clerk B must ensure accurate data entry of patient demographics and test requests. The Booking & Registration Clerk B supports Blood Collection Services, and assists with the flow of patients to ensure minimal wait times. The Booking & Registration Clerk B is responsible for a variety of clerical functions.
The Booking & Registration Clerk B will support QEII Blood Collection facilities which include: Bayer’s Road Blood Collection, Spryfield Blood Collection, Victoria General site and Halifax Infirmary site.
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 plus one-year related experience or graduate of recognized one-year related business/clerical program
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred
- Customer service skills required
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Organization and multi-tasking skills
- STAR registration experience preferred
- LIS accessioning experience preferred
- Medical Terminology preferred
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent, Part-Time (50%) position; 35 hours bi-weekly
- Shiftwork including weekends is required
Compensation and Incentives
$22.89 – $24.89 hourly
