Job description: Our client, a provider of powder coating services to the automotive OEM industry, is looking for a Manufacturing Lead Hand/Supervisor to assist in running production processes.

Job Details:

  • Position: Manufacturing Lead Hand/Supervisor – Automotive Parts Powder Coating
  • Hours: Mon-Fri from 7AM-3:30PM
  • Salary: 55-65k, Benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and support to associates in an efficient manner on the safe operation of machinery and tools and on process methods.
  • Inspect product to ensure that work has been completed on time and in accordance with Company`s standards.
  • Read/write work instructions.
  • Oversee, follow & enforce production processes/goals.
  • Maintain a clean work area, clear of hazards and encourage employees to do same.
  • Complete and communicate daily production vs targets.
  • Develop new methods to track and measure processes.
  • Maintain responsibility for the work area to include equipment, machinery and tools.
  • Troubleshoot any process/staff related issues.
  • Audit Procedures LPA type.
  • Monitor inventory counts, discrepancies, organization and provide reports on a daily/ Weekly/monthly basis.
  • Oversee shipping & logistics of outgoing/incoming shipments.
  • Create, follow up on BOLs.
  • Ensure production is flowing which includes filling in for associates and emptying all waste bins to appropriate waste streams.
  • Maintain clear paths and supply all parts/components/tools/PPE to associates.
  • Ensure White Board production requirements are recorded and communicated to owners.
  • Report any damaged or missing products.
  • Provide random QC inspections on Work in Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG).
  • Ensure Health & Safety initiatives are met; assigning clean up duties and shut down production five minutes before the end of shift for housekeeping daily.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in an OEM environment in a management or leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S.
  • Walky/Forklift experience.
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing processes & procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proven record of attendance and reliability.
  • The ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in a fast paced environment.
