About the role:

Lantrax Logistics is seeking a qualified and experienced Safety & Compliance Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure a secure and compliant working environment for our employees, with a specific focus on occupational health and safety, NSC compliance, driver logbook compliance, driver screening, and the COR safety program.

As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for:

Occupational Health and Safety

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.

NSC Compliance

  • Stay abreast of National Safety Code (NSC) regulations and ensure that Lantrax Logistics remains in full compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor NSC compliance and implement corrective measures as needed
  • Driver Logbook Compliance
  • Oversee the accurate and timely completion of driver logbooks, ensuring compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Provide training and support to drivers on proper logbook procedures.

Driver Screening

  • Implement thorough driver screening processes, including background checks and medical examinations, to ensure the recruitment of qualified and safe drivers.
  • Monitor and evaluate driver performance to identify areas for improvement and provide necessary training.

COR Safety Program Management:

  • Manage Lantrax Logistics’ Certificate of Recognition (COR) safety program, including the development and maintenance of safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate COR audits, track performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Your qualifications:

  • Certification or seeking certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CRSP) is an asset.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of NSC regulations, driver safety, and COR program management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a long-term corporate safety vision.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks as needed
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Technologically proficient and able to pick up new programs quickly (and Microsoft Office experience).
  • Team player who also excels when working independently.
