Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions (WWS) is looking for a Security Guard to join our organization.

We are seeking active Security Guard Relief On Call, who will provides protection for the terminal (142 acres) and its customers’ property. This is accomplished primarily by controlling access to the facility at the Security kiosk and by performing frequent patrols of the entire site.

Type of job: On call/Relief
Location: Annacis Island, Delta (BC) and/or Richmond
Work Hours: Must be available
Morning: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM OR 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM OR 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Evening/Graveyard: 10:00 PM- 6:00AM OR 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Control the entrance and exit of all vehicles into and out of the facility.
• Make frequent and non-routine patrols of both the perimeter and interior of the facility.
• Check all the gates to ensure they are either unlocked and opened or closed and locked in accordance with the Yard Access schedule.
• Prepare yard for vessel offloading by coning sections of the lot.
• Verify T-bills as car carriers, dealers and others pick up vehicles from the compound.
• Vehicle damage verification.
• Pass vessel discharge information along to Stevedoring superintendents.
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

Job Requirements

This job is for you if you have:

• Must hold a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license (no L or N licenses) with good driving records (Driver’s License Abstract required upon submission)
• Must hold a valid Basic Security Training License / Certification.
• Able to attend training of all shifts (8-10 shifts including mornings/afternoons/evenings & graveyards)
• Flexible to work on a variety of shifts
• Able to drive pick-up trucks.
• Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Physical capabilities: requires frequent walking and ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Able to listen, comprehend and take direction well.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable and punctual.
