About the role:
We are looking for an accounting pro with extensive experience in accounting cloud-based SaaS solutions to be our next Accounting Specialist II. We are only considering candidates currently based in Charlotte, NC.

After the initial 90-day probationary period working out of N. Charlotte office, this position qualifies for a flexible work schedule, telecommuting, and remote office (work from home).

Must have’s:

  • Communicator: We are looking for that rare accounting professional that possesses excellent verbal communication skills. This position requires an engaging persona to interact with our internal customers (employees) and external clients regularly.
  • Background with accounting SaaS solutions such as QuickBooks (must), NetSuite (plus), Stampli, Bills.com, SAP Concur (plus), or Certify.
  • Excel: Must be very proficient with Excel and handling large amounts of data.

This position will be an important part of the monthly close process, that will ensure all asset-related journal entries are posted and all accounts are accurately reconciled. This individual will also work on various projects that include documenting procedures and provide backup to other members of the accounting team. The candidate must have the ability to reverse-engineer data and conduct root-cause analysis with Excel data.

A typical workweek will include the following:

  • Accounting: QuickBooks or NetSuite (a plus).
  • AP automation: SaaS such as Stampli, Bills.com, etc.
  • Expense management: SAP Concur or Certify, etc.
  • Excel (a must): Ability to quickly translate data and conduct root-cause analysis.
  • AP/AR: Accounts Payable (75%) and Accounts Receivable (15%) emphasis.
  • QuickBooks: Reconcile accounting transactions.
  • Reconciliation: Research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Quality Control: Ensure process workflows are accurate with billing accounts.
  • Data Integrity: Accurately entering numeric/alphanumeric information via database.
  • Monthly Closeout: Prepare monthly stats/metrics, and account reconciliations.
  • Communicator: Triage department emails and draft communication related to month-end.
  • Invoicing: Generate/submit to clients, determine allocations, and diligent payment follow-up.
  • Accurate Processing: Asset-related invoices and maintaining the accuracy of all master files.
  • Online Banking: Scanning deposits and executing ACH transactions.

This role might be for you if you have:

  • Must-Have: Clear and engaging communication competencies. This position will have ongoing interaction with cross-functional teams and must be an adept verbal communicator.
  • Analytical: A passion for all things Excel, data integrity, and root-cause data analysis.
  • Technology: Experience working with accounting cloud-based SaaS such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Stampli, Bills.com, SAP Concur, Certify. Must be proficient with Microsoft O365 products including SharePoint.
  • Credible: 1-3 years of AP/AR experience.
  • 3-4+ years of Accounting experience and/or 1-3 years of data entry experience.
  • Detail-oriented: Very high attention to detail and data integrity is everything.
  • Discipline & Consistency: Ability to multi-task, achieve specific and time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Influence: Must have a personable approach to influence internal clients (employees) and rigorous follow-up with RFI’s (Request for Info).
  • Team Relationships: Ability to partner with diverse teams and learn from others, regardless of titles.

What to Expect:

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background screen.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Typical work week: Monday – Friday (8 A.M. to 5 P.M.)
  • After the initial 90-day probationary period, this position qualifies for a flexible work schedule that includes telecommuting and/or remote office work from home.
  • Travel: No travel, except for on rare occasions for a continuing education or training class.
