Position Summary

As a result of a leave, we have a temporary opportunity for an Accounting Support Clerk to join our Accounting team.

This is anticipated to be a 3 month contract, full-time, 35 hours weekly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide overall Accounting office support for the following:

o Open/sort/distribute mail
o Assist with gathering support documents for year-end audit
o Box up prior years files and filing

  • Provide support for cashier functions as required, including:

o Process debit and credit card payments through Moneris POS system
o Maintain various coin machines throughout facility
o Verify patient health card numbers

  • Provide support for Accounts Receivable functions as required, including:

o Process and provide administrative support for insurance claims
o Assist in preparing invoices
o Complete daily tracking of RMT payments from Moneris POS system
o Assist with annual tax receipt mail-outs

  • Provide support for Accounts Payable functions as required, including:

o Assist with weekly EFT and cheque run, including sorting of invoices and weekly cheque mail-outs
o Enter purchase order invoices into accounting system

What we’re looking for

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in the accounting/administration field
  • Enrollment in post-secondary school in related field considered an asset
  • Exceptional organizational & time management skills
  • Knowledge and skills related to privacy, confidentiality & security of information
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in Healthcare and with an AS400 and Infinium software would be a definite advantage
