This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant Manager – Accounts Payable, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for carrying out assigned functional accounting and maintaining the integrity of information within the accounting subsystems in Financial Services. The Accounts Payable Clerk responds to and serves as a point of contact for customers and vendors.
The Accounts Payable Clerk ensures that the principles and practices that guide the Nova Scotia Health Authority such as the vision, mission, values, strategic directions, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.
Qualifications
*Graduate of a recognized post-secondary business program with an emphasis in Accounting
- Minimum one (1) year recent and related experience in a computerized Accounting environment in the past three (3) years
- Work experience in Accounts Payable preferred
- Ability to use MS Office (Word, Outlook and Excel), Accounting software and willingness to learn new programs
- Ability to use general office equipment
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable and General Accounting
- Demonstrated accountability

Hours of Work
- Long-assignment, full-time position; 70 hours bi-weekly

Salary Information
$21.8021 – $24.3938 hourly
