We’re looking for an Accounts Receivable Administrator( Contract-7months) to join our Burnaby, BC team.

The Opportunity:

The Accounts Receivable Administrator is responsible for high volume processing of accounts receivable transactions & payment receipts. Some USA and other foreign markets transaction processing will be required. The primary mandate for the Administrator will be to ensure outstanding receivables remain within company targets, and that appropriate accounts receivable process and systems are adhered to.

In this role you’ll:

  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Record receipts.
  • Confirm and communicate receipt of bid deposits and payments.
  • Identify and investigate any banking discrepancies, and reconcile unidentified & unapplied payments.
  • Upload auction transactions and enter all accounting adjustments including deductions, price adjustments, collapses, sales tax, pilferage, etc.
  • Process refunds for overpayments, bid deposits, collapses, price adjustments, and tax adjustments.
  • Ensure appropriate authorizations and policies are adhered to with respect to adjustments.
  • Generate invoices to bill customers, consignors and inter-company subsidiaries.
  • Assist sale site in collections and reconciling customer accounts; investigate and resolve any delinquencies.
  • Notify departments regarding pertinent receivable balances, adjustments and holdbacks in accordance with timelines.
  • Scrutinize aging of accounts receivable and set up allowance for doubtful accounts (AFDA) according to policy.
  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.

Here’s what you bring:

  • Minimum one year of accounts receivable experience and experience working in an office environment.
  • Enrolled in a professional accounting designation or accounting diploma program.
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting concepts preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organized, detailed-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to always meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.
  • Demonstrated experience working well as a member of a team.
  • A solid work ethic, without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job.

This job will require you to:

  • Reconcile AR sub-ledger to general ledger. Assist with month end closing and reporting.
  • Process monthly finance charges as applicable.
  • Review sale site set-up to ensure that tax and administrative fees are correctly inputted.
  • Research and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Maintain customer account information.
  • Filing and sorting paperwork.
  • Perform other accounting administrative duties as required.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work varied hours and occasional overtime hours.
