The Administrative Support Assistant is the hub of the Medical and Dental Claims Management team. In this dynamic and exciting role, you will be responsible for general office duties including logging and assigning all incoming work into the department, paper and electronic filing, and administrative support to all staff in this highly productive and customer focused department.
You will be accountable for:
- Living our values of Customer View; Integrity; Partnership; and Communities.
- Log and assign all incoming work into the team which is received by paper, email and workflow.
- Periodically sort faxes received from shared fax machine for all units on a rotating schedule.
- Distribute mail to staff within the team.
- Coordinate courier deliveries.
- Maintain department filing in electronic format.
- Perform phone attendant duties which includes taking messages and re-directing calls for staff within the Claims Strategy and Support teams.
- Assist team with sending letters to plan members and providers when required.
- Send documents to Translation Services when required.
- Support our Technical Support Assistant during vacation.
- Perform other adminstrative duties as required.
Required Competencies and Behaviors:
- Ability to excel within a Purpose/Vision driven environment.
- Experience with Group Health Benefits systems (i.e. BEN, PAS) and Benefit Payment Office processes (i.e. CWF) is an asset.
- Verbal and written communication should be clear and concise.
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in an environment with fluctuating work volumes.
