Job description: Your Opportunity:

TThe successful candidate will be accountable for administrative support to the Community Perinatal Program. The program supports pregnant women who have risks to a healthy pregnancy outcome due to lack of access to regular medical care, lack of money, isolation, language and cultural barriers, poor nutrition, substance use or interpersonal violence. The Community Perinatal Program offers prenatal, labour and delivery, and postpartum care and support by a team of community health nurses and family physicians. The successful person will be dedicated to creating and fostering a client centered, safe, inclusive and welcoming care environment. This position reports to the Program Manager for Public Health Programs, Maternal Newborn programs. The successful candidate has overall responsibility for the organization and flow of the Community Perinatal program at East Edmonton. Key responsibilities include booking and organizing client appointments, receiving and greeting clients, management of client records, and fostering supportive relationships with clients. This role is also responsible for ordering supplies and resources, data entry and maintenance of program statistics and client information, assisting in office administration operations, developing draft correspondence and reports, establishing communication channels with community partners, responding to inquiries and/or redirecting as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required. Experience working in public health, health, medical clinic or equivalent. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, proven problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift, move and transport at least 25 pounds of equipment. An ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with nurses, other administrative support, physicians and others. Positive attitude with a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive client experience. Experience in working with diverse cultures and vulnerable populations. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Meditech and Connect Care. Recent public health experience. Post-secondary training in medical/health care and/or administration support.
