At the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) our vision of âService. Relationships. The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of non-medical cannabis and beverage alcohol within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Cannabis Stores and BC Liquor Stores.
We employ nearly 5,000 people in over 200 communities and have hundreds of career opportunities spanning our entire wholesale, retail and corporate operations â from supply chain logistics, to high-tech solutions, and everything in between. The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support governmentâs key priorities of protecting children and youth, ensuring health and safety standards, and keeping the criminal element out of the supply chain. Following legalization, the BCLDB began distribution and wholesale of cannabis, and operating BC Cannabis Stores in a growing number of locations across the province. Since 2018 the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to over 25 locations with more growth planned all across the province. Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments.ÂÂ
Reporting to the Senior Manager, E-commerce & Digital, the E-Commerce Specialist manages the presentation and accessibility of products and other content on our B2B and B2C transactional website.
The primary focus of this position is to enhance the online user experience and drive sales through strategic product and content positioning driven by data analysis and a strong understanding of our brand and vision. The Specialist contributes to the in-store digital experience.

Position Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelorâs degree in a related field. •A minimum of 1 year of recent* industry experience in e-commerce merchandising, product assortment and inventory management. •Experience with online analytical tools and reporting. •Strong experience with product and content management systems. •Experience with enterprise e-commerce systems and multichannel e-commerce operations. •Experience with customer facing technologies, web, mobile and digital in-store technologies.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience with many of the following business technology domains: e-commerce systems, interfaces and processes: WCMS, PIM, DAM, Marketing Tooling, Digital Merchandizing, Analytics and Reporting, Inventory Management, POS. •Experience working in a government or regulatory environment. •Experience working within the cannabis industry.
*Recent is defined as experience occurring within the last 5 years.
