Your Responsibilities

Through the Ag & Turf Sales and Marketing Development Program, you will gain a foundation of knowledge about our business which will prepare you to take on future, progressive roles in the company. You will work on professional marketing and small project management assignments to develop an understanding of sales and marketing processes, factory product support, distribution, and related products. In this role, you will:

  • Participate in formal training (structured John Deere training schools)
  • Participate in informal training (on-the-job training, shadowing a current field manager)
  • Participate and assist field managers with dealer events, shows, promotions
  • Fulfill a variety of developmental assignments to gain unit and field experience by managing small strategic projects
  • Participate in training related to product, sales, and marketing processes, etc.
  • Deliver and or assist with product promotional events
  • Travel with selected field managers to gain experience with distribution/sales channels

What Skills You Need

  • Understanding of farming and agronomic trends associated with agriculture in Canada
  • Agronomic knowledge
  • Experience with equipment
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and/or tasks
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
  • Valid driver’s license

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Agriculture field experience with regular customer contact
  • Knowledge of dealer/distribution network
  • Agricultural financials
  • Knowledge of products, customers and the Ag equipment business
  • Bilingual communication skills (English/French)

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • University Degree in Agriculture, Business, Marketing or a related field; or College Diploma with 3-4 years relevant dealer/industry experience
