Job Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager, Retail Banner Services, the Financial Analyst, is responsible to ensure monthly accounting activities are done accurately and on time. Tasks includes Data entry, General Ledger transactions, reconciliations, and production of various analysis and schedules. The incumbent will also ensure compliance with corporate and accounting policies (SOX).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible of the creation, modification and cancellation of category management agreements in SAP.
  • Participate in Category management invoicing, and resolution of vendor requests.
  • Interfaces with vendors, Billing department and Category management team.
  • Performs detailled reconciliations, including analysis of data obtained from customer, vendor and billing system.
  • Perform analyses that bring value add to the business and allow for making strategically sound business decisions in a timely manner. Recommend appropriate solutions or alternatives when supporting management in ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Develop and generate business reports on key business metrics to measure the performance and success of any key initiatives; report on the results to the Retail business leaders with recommendations for improved results.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and accounting policies (SOX).

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in a Financial Analyst role requiring strong knowledge of data analysis
  • University degree in Business related discipline (e.g. Commerce, Finance, or Accounting)
  • Strong analytical background, comfortable with complex financial analysis detail oriented.
  • Multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Internal Communication with business leaders/budget owners, local and head office Finance, IT and Business Analytics & Intelligence. External communication with store owners and vendors
  • Proficiency in enterprise software systems (SAP), and exceptional skills in MS Office specifically Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and French

The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$54,900 – $91,500
