OVERVIEW
We are looking for an Application Support Specialist to join our Business Solutions Group in Halifax, NS. In this role, you will support Fleetway Inc. where big changes are happening. Serving federal government (Navy, Coast Guard, Transport Canada), provincial government, and commercial clients in the marine, oil & gas, and other industrial sectors, this business utilizes unique and progressive technologies.
If you’re naturally curious, keen to learn and motivated by a fast-moving environment this is an opportunity to support mission critical applications for shipbuilding. Providing expertise and technical knowledge for a suite of applications while answering queries, resolving issues, and interacting with many different teams will build your daily schedule. Attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, and translate technical issues will drive your success.
The Details
Assist with configuration, testing and operations of platform solutions
Train users on specific applications and document creation
Provide Go Live and Post Go Live support for project and solutions
Manage and upgrade systems for improving performance, availability and scalability of solutions
Participate in on call support for 24 X 7 operations
You have:
A University Degree or College Diploma in computer science or equivalent experience
Preferably 2+ years of application support experience
Experience in or exposure to Microsoft Azure, web technologies and REST calls, writing SQL queries, stored procedures for relational databases, and ETL procedures
You are:
Technically inclined, process oriented and driven by a natural curiosity
Happy in an environment where you can work independently as well as collaboratively
An information addict – learning new skills and software applications is second nature
At home in a fast-paced work environment where solutions are not always clearly defined
A practiced communicator with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Organized, analytical and business savvy
Able to pass necessary security clearances
Extras:
Microsoft 365 Certified Fundamentals
Experience working with ERP solutions
