Job description: Robert Half has partnered with a company that is seeking a results-oriented Assistant Controller. You will supervise the accounting staff and report any updates to the Controller in this Assistant Controller role. Your responsibilities

– Determine and form process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

– Aid implementation and guarantee adherence to accounting policies and procedures

– Other distinguished duties when required

– Provide regular account reconciliation to completion

– Dissect and generate Ad Hoc financial reports

– Progressive preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

– Backfill for Controller where appropriate

– Be instrumental in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

– Assist to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment

– Establish relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

– Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met

– Foster accountability and the meeting of deliverables

– Compose diverse procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses

– CPA designation is a must.

– Deep knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

– 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

– Deep understanding of Accounting Entries

– Accounting cycle experience preferred

– Accounting operations experience highly desired

– Account management experience desired

– Knowledge of Account Records

– Significant accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

– Strong analytical capabilities and discernment

– Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

– Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
