This is for a full-time permanent position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The Assistant Deputy Minister, Energy, Corporate Policy and Communications is currently responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of government energy programs, services and policy; internal and external departmental communications; the development of departmental plans, and the corporate development of resource legislation, regulation and policy related to energy, land, forestry, agriculture, oil and gas, minerals and other resource programs.
The role includes providing support and advice to the Deputy Minister and Minister on a wide range of departmental issues and to prepare the Minister for business in the Legislature, in Cabinet committees and other public and internal senior level meetings.
Essential Qualifications:

- Strong executive-level experience in the public sector;
- Theoretical base in leadership and public sector administration, including strategic planning, human resources, and financial management
- Experience providing strategic leadership in the management of diverse and complex program areas, leading teams and working collaboratively across government and externally.
EMR Essential Qualifications:
- Experience with or working knowledge of Yukon First Nations Final and Self-Government Agreements.
- Extensive experience in policy and/or communications in a senior level or leadership role.
- Experience with the development and completion of complex legislation.
- Experience with administrative change management.

Conditions of Employment: Ability to travel internationally across borders, valid passport, class 5 driver’s licence
