Job description: We’re looking for our next Assistant Manager, Event Operations!
creators of Cluny Bistro, El Catrin, Pure Spirits Oyster House & Grill, Archeo Trattoria, Madrina Bar y Tapas, District Pizza and Distillery Events (the Fermenting Cellar and The Distillery District®- Loft) are seeking experienced applicants with outstanding food & beverage knowledge, solid business acumen, and a drive to deliver results and bring people together. The ideal candidate not only understands that exceptional guest service is at the heart of hospitality but they are also attuned to the pulse of Toronto’s unique food and beverage culture.

What you will be doing:
- Lead the team by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate the DRC’s Mission & Values, and inspire the team with your exciting vision for the future
- Demonstrate high personal integrity, business ethics and take every opportunity to promote the venue and the DRC
- Use conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to coach and lead team members
- Regularly monitor and achieve the events/restaurant’s points of technical service and points of details
- Build and maintain relationships with guests/clients, vendors, suppliers, team members and senior management alike
- Assist with the tracking of sales, invoicing, and managing inventory
- Work with Human Resources to manage team members’ performance, coach, train and recruit as necessary
- Participate in regular event review meetings with event sales & coordination team and back of house operations
- Coordinate and participate in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance your skills, abilities and professionalism for personal growth and development
- Manage inventory, purchasing and maintenance of small wares and event equipment and order necessary beverage and venue items as required
- Ensure COVID protocols and sanitation are being performed before, during and after events
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required

- KNOWLEDGEABLE. You have a strong foundation in events and business acumen. You are familiar with financial management including the ability to control labour, forecasting, scheduling and payroll while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- SELF STARTER. You would describe yourself as proactive rather than reactive. You see the world through a solutions-oriented lens.
