KPMG Corporate Finance Inc. is the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) regulated entity through which KPMG LLP’s investment banking services are provided in Canada. KPMG’s Corporate Finance services are principally comprised of merger, acquisition and divestiture advisory services and financing services including raising debt and equity capital.

Our Debt Advisory practice caters to both private sector and public sector clients and helps organizations raise capital and align capital structure and financing strategy with overall strategic objectives and business drivers. We provide bespoke services with expertise across a broad spectrum of capabilities to address various financial situations. In addition to traditional financing transactions, we offer a strong focus on highly structured transactions and solutions.

What you will do

As an Associate, KPMG Corporate Finance Inc., you will develop extensive transaction advisory experience through your involvement in the day-to-day execution of debt and capital advisory mandates.

  • Assist with preparation of transaction documentation such as pitch books, management presentations, and confidential information memorandums.
  • Prepare integrated financial models to support decision making for key transaction tollgates.
  • Develop and review complex financial and contractual frameworks.
  • Provide analytical and market research information and supporting analysis (i.e., industry research, public market and precedent transaction research, etc.).
  • Assist with proactive business development and deal initiation activities.
  • Undertake engagement and practice management responsibilities, including billings and adherence to professional practice requirements.

At times, business needs arise and employees are required and agree to work beyond their normal work day or work week to fulfill the accountabilities required for their job
What you bring to the role

  • Post-secondary degree with 2+ years of related professional experience in corporate finance, transaction advisory, or public accounting
  • Technical finance proficiency, including knowledge of financial statements and general accounting principles.
  • Familiarity working in a deal-driven environment is an asset, but not required.
  • Completion toward CPA, CBV, CFA designation is an asset, but not required.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to build and develop client relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • International experience and/or French-English bilingualism is an asset, but not required.
  • Must be willing to travel within and across Canada.
